This ancient timber-frame hall house was bought by our client in a semi-derelict state, being a listed building it needed to be restored in a sensitive and appropriate manner. An old basketmakers workshop in the garden had to be demolished and re-built to form an artist studio whilst maintaining as much of its original appearance as possible. Much of the old house had to be rebuilt using traditional materials such as lime plaster, brick floors and materials that allowed the building to breath naturally, whilst achieving modern construction standards.
